Description
SimSound Aural Cue is an audio system that was designed to meet the requirements of a commercial flight simulator in the area of aural cue. SimSound uses TEC’s developed COTS sound devices to provide a solution that is cutting edge, low maintenance and guaranteed availability for many years. The Aural Cue system utilizes Dolby 7.1 and DirectSound under the Windows operating system with TEC’s 8 x 50 Watt per channel USB Audio Amplifier sound device(UAA-8). This approach allows for accurate simulation of the positional characteristics of the aircraft sounds including engines, APU, landing gear, etc. The Aural Cue simulation is based on synthetic and non-synthetic sounds. This allows the creation of realistic sounds when there is or isn’t a clean sound capture flight test data for the aircraft in question.
The SimSound Aural Cue system comes with a generic fixed wing prop or jet aural cueing model, which normally requires tailoring for specific engine sounds and equipment. SimSound is easy to configure for adding sounds files and if specific tailoring is required Visual .NET environment and samples are provided to make it easy to add or modify functions.
